Numismatically Challenged
 

Going through some loose change, I noticed a few quarters dated 1965-68. The rims appear to have about half silver and half clad, and I got to wondering if they may be 40 percent silver like the Kennedy halves of similar dates. Are these late '60s coins worth saving?

Only the halves where 40% from 1965 to 1968.

Hello....it is a Franklin Mint product...I can see their trademark.....I see no marking indicating gold content....probably brass......stay away, especially with a foreign seller.....he is fishing in my opinion....GLTU

I found the coin it is Bronze ( the picture of the missouri coin is clear the one of Idaho is fuzzy but these are his gold coins )

The only 40% silver quarters minted were the 1976 Bicentennial quarters in the special mint and proof sets which contained the quarter, half, and Ike dollar. I've already have found many of the halves in circulation so it stands to reason there should be some quarters out there also. I believe they minted 11,000,000 or more of these coins. The 40% halves were minted for circulation from 1965 to 1970 with almost 1 billion minted.

I am happy to see sofar nobody fell for the large gold coin
Best offer 3.29 Euros ( According to what I found on eBAy US it is Bronze )
